Good Day, Sunshine!

Spending time at work is good for your body, mind soul. I spent the last 3 days at work. I was away and out of contact for 12 hours a day from people that I love. Instead surrounded by people in need, in pain and people who are for the most part finding themselves in a period of time that is the most uncomfortable they have ever experienced.

I awoke this morning feeling refreshed from the extra hour of sleep I was able to enjoy. Arose. Put my feet on the carpet and straightened by back, opened my eyes. Nice. No pain this morning.  I thankfully prepared a few lines for my maker...remarking how wonderful it was to have fresh air to breathe to smell... legs to stand on and move me well... I dressed myself as usual on days off and headed toward the upstairs to wake my daughter for school. Again, I mentally note each blessing as it is revealed to me. Good Morning Abigail.

I was letterboxing this morning at an estuary near the Ohio River. I was in the woods a long time, alone, walking. It felt good to be outside again after being at work for several days.

Piano

This old piano sits in our small home in Georgetown, Ohio. We acquired the piano through FreeCycle.  The whole family has been having fun with it and it has become another entity in our home.  Our daughter begins piano lessons today, so last week we had a tuner come and look at our 'gem'. The good news: This piano can be tuned.  The bad news: It will take more than one trip from the tuner.

I'm not sure that another trip from the tuner is so bad really. If you have ever had an instrument and had that instrument played by someone really good then you know how overcome with emotion I was to hear such lovely music coming from my piano. The tuner raised the pitch last week and will return for a fine tuning in a week or so.

In the meantime, we will continue to learn where all the A's through G's are and play the one skip song.
